Last friday, we had a programming contest in our school. I came in fifth. I notice that guys that came in the top three had some books on Algorithms. (We can refer to hardcopy during the contest)
So I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books on algorithms for C++ (and C# as well).
Thanks

Yea, I had that Deitel book and the Data Structures from Topp Ford.

Deitel and Deitel is good for getting top scores, but if you want to go little further, this is my rec.
Introduction to Algorithms, Second Edition by Thomas H. Cormen (Editor), Charles E. Leiserson, Ronald L. Rivest, Clifford Stein (Very good book)
Hacker's Delight by Henry S. Warren Jr. (if you want to see good techniques in problem solving).
Genetic Algorithms in Search, Optimization and Machine Learning by David E. Goldberg (this is good if you are writing search engines and performance tuning systems).
An Introduction to Genetic Algorithms (Complex Adaptive Systems) by Melanie Michell (a good book).
