Before I start I have successfully utilised the SqlClient component of the .Net framework, utilising the web.Config file to store connection settings, and creating a SqlConnection object at run time.
Now i'm tring to do the same with an Oracle connection and am stumped. I've tried the OleDb client shipped with .Net and MS's OracleClient, but cannot for love nor money get a run time OleDbConnection or OracleConnection. I have successfully connected to servers in the server explorer tool of VS 2003 IDE, but even robbing the connection strings from their properties does not help me.
Can anybody help or provide some assistance to getting either an OleDbClient or OracleClient connection to an Oracle 8i database.
I'm going to go home now and cry, but will pray for answers overnight. Any assisstance is much appreciated, and may help me keep my hair!
Thanks all...
Rhys
