Ok, I've broken down and have started playing with asp.net.
I've really never worked with IIS before (well not true, I've done *some* asp stuff @ work, but I have never setup or configured the server before), and when I try to setup a project here at home, I get a message saying that the server only has .net 1.0 installed.
my question is, how do I make IIS use the .net 1.1 I have installed? the only info I've looked at is on asp.net and it only mentions how to do this with 2k3 server and not xp.
can I upgrade to IIS6 for free, or do I need(have) to purchase this item? it would seem that I could get it as a service patch but I guess not since it's still not installed.
thanks.

Run <b><font name="arial, verdana, tahoma" color="#6633dd">C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i </font></b> from .net command prompt. If your system folder is other than c:\Windows, correct it before running the above command.
