I've had installshild now forever, but have never used it (just havent ever had the chance to sit down and learn it), I usually distribute stuff with a sfx-zip file, but a few days ago I decided to make use of my resources and use installshield.
I have InstallShield X and am trying to write an installer that doesn't include the 22meg dotnetfx.exe file, but instead checks for v1.1 and downloads/installs it if its not present. I found installshield provides a downloadable which works beatuifully, but it only installs version 1.0 :( I can script the download / install directly from the ms location but dont get a little progress bar as it installs :(
I know the release wizard includes an option to do this automagically without actually coding it into the script, but the type of project that I can get working, doesnt include this option in the Release Wizard, which is why I'm doing it by hand.
has anyone ever made one of these with a dynamic .NET 1.1 install?
thanks
