how does the voting system work? what does the blue star mean? how is a checkbox different than a vote? if a checkbox is the answer, then why is there a voting system? why do i have to keep logging in if i close my laptop for 5 minutes? i never had to keep logging in at csharpfriends. checking "remember me" doesn't seem to work very well either. i voted down vulpes to see what would happen (sorry vulpes, without a help page, i'm curiously clicking), but i don't get things around here. perhaps a quick tutorial, or a new home page that explains things.

and how does answering your own question differ than anyone else answering it? it needs a search page, too (i know there's a thread for that, +1 vote) thanks.

i would also consider putting (VERY FEW) sections to the forums, some questions are vb, some are c# some are networking.....you get the idea

The blue star is adding the question to your favorites.

I am looking into the logging in issue, I agree it is annoying!

I'll work on the help page also ASAP.
Thanks for your suggestions (and frankness hehe)

i'd consider sectioning off the forums, ie. VB, C#, ASP, WPF. i know some about c#, but nothing about asp or vb, so i don't want to muddle through everyone else's posts to try and help someone. maybe make the forum general, but add a manditory radio button that says "C#, VB, ASP, etc" and have a tab at the top of the forum that allows you to filter the posts by the person's question. maybe a links page also, developer fusion's vb to c# and c# to vb converter is definately helpful to a newb when they find an example but need to convert it. a page of tutorials that apply to everyone's programs would be good as well. i know there's a billion and one sites out there that has tutorials, but stuff like "changing your program's icon, etc" stuff that might apply to everyone who is developing a program. just my $0.02. keep up the good work

and what happened to all my paragraphing in the previous post? do i have to put html tags around it to make it look pretty? i did separate that into 3 paragraphs. school taught me something.

i get it. you should be able to add paragraphs in the new comments, for some reason the newline key doesn't work in comments. and you should be able to edit the comments as well. i see you can delete them, but you should be able to edit them just like you can with your questions. thanks

and i would put some sort of notification when someone commented on your post. the "answer question" thing works okay, but you need a notification when someone commented on your post, i wouldn't think of checking my old posts because it doesn't give you some sort of alert that any activity has occured.

and i think you need a way of contacting, at the very least, the moderators, or other users. i don't know how to do it, but you need a way to filter out people contacting the mvp's here for advice on their program personally. but you need a way to pm the mods here.
